QUÉBEC BUSINESS DESTINATION

In Milan a seminar promoted by the Government of Québec in Italy, in cooperation with Nctm Law Firm and the Centro Studi Italia-Canada

QUÉBEC BUSINESS DESTINATION
EU-Canada Free Trade Agreement and opportunities for Italian companies
February 28th 2018 from 9.00am to 2.00pm
Nctm Law Firm
Via Agnello 12, Milan

Pierre Marc Johnson, CETA chief negotiator for Québec and premier of the Canadian province in 1985, will open the work of the seminar “Québec business destination”, organized by the representative of the Government of Québec in Italy, in cooperation with Nctm Law Firm and the Centro Studi Italia-Canada.
Hosted by NCTM in Milan, next February 28th, the seminar will be an opportunity to present the main business opportunities offered by Québec in strategic sectors, in which Italian companies can invest to expand their market and improve their skills: Green economy, Information Technologies, Pharmaceuticals, Communication, Aerospace and Energy. Starting from the opportunities arising from the new provisions set by the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), signed between Canada and the European Union on 30 October 2016, currently in provisional execution and awaiting ratification by the Member States.
Québec is the second largest Canadian province in terms of population – around 8 million – with the lowest unemployment rate in the last 40 years – 6.1% (2017) – and holds the record for innovative development in key sectors of the global economy. The constant economic growth of this province in the last ten years (+ 2.8% in 2017) and the strongly European character of Québec are essential components for an excellent business card in the presence of Italian companies interested in Canada, a country with a strong attractiveness increased by the new economic and trade agreement, CETA, whose provisions allow a strengthening of relations also between Italy and Québec.

The seminar will be structured on 4 thematic panels that will be held over the morning, industry experts with the aim to provide a concrete approach to the advantages of CETA and the opportunities for trade and investment in Québec:

  1. CETA and opportunities for Italian companies
  2. Why invest in Québec
  3. Québec: innovation, creation and success
  4. Immigration
